Since being elected to Halton Hills Council, Alex has quickly shown himself to be a thoughtful, well prepared councillor. His questions to staff show a desire to fully understand the implications of council decisions. He brings the concerns of his constituents to the discussion and votes with the best interests of the town in mind. I believe these are qualities we need in our next MPP.

I have known Alex for a little over 8 years where he helped the local business and various associations survive Covid 19 when he was the Acton BIA manager.
His work and support with various organizations from children’s sports leagues to the local Seniors Centres, has been appreciated by those involved.
He continued this work and support when he was voted on to Halton Hills town council.
Alex believes in looking after the community and the people living in it, always available to assist people with their issues and providing direction to solve the problems.

I have known Alex for a number of years and have found that he is an involved and engaging young man. As a Councillor for Ward 1 in Halton Hills (Acton) he has worked hard on issues that affect the whole town. His commitment goes beyond Council duties as he has been for many years a dedicated volunteer working with the broader community. Our paths cross quite often in our mutual interests with service clubs and religious organizations and he has been recognized with a number of awards for his volunteer work.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Alex Hilson for several years. Through his work on the BIA for Acton, he achieved experience with local initiatives. In this capacity he ran the Farmers Market, and came to know many farmers, as well as making meaningful connections with the people in Acton, and Georgetown. He also showed financial acuity in this position, which will be essential, in the coming days.
He has been a mentor for Co-op students at Acton High School, and was a great role model for them, teaching them professional and responsible ways of managing employment.

The spirit of community volunteerism runs through Alex Hilson's veins.
I first met him when we moved to Acton 13 years ago. While still at teenager, I recall Alex volunteering as a youth councillor in the Town-run children's daycamp and later managing a stage at the Leathertown Festival. A few years later we both worked as reporters for the New Tanner where Alex was a quick study as a journalist and showed a keen interest in community happenings. He is also a multi-talented musician and we have worked together on various musical endeavours. Before getting elected to Town Council, he served as BIA manager where he managed events like the Canada Day celebration and the Leathertown Festival. Alex is one of a handful of individuals who can always be counted on to step up to the plate if some community project needs doing. I fully endorse Alex Hilson as the Liberal candidate in the provincial riding of Wellington-Halton Hills. He will make a great Member of Provincial Parliament.
